A day to remember...

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also
known as Prince William and Princess Catherine

Today at 11:00am GMT, millions of people across the globe tuned in to witness the marriage of HRH Prince William of Wales to Miss Catherine "Kate" Middleton. Whether on the television, YouTube, in the cinema or by other means, an estimated 1-2 billion people watched worldwide, as Kate became Princess Catherine and the couple were finally married. I watched the whole service on TV and thought it was lovely; I'd never seen a wedding in full before (apart from attending one when I was 6 months old, but even then I had to be taken out part way through for making too much noise).
Kate's dress was beautiful. I loved the lace detailing on the sleeves and the flowery pattern. She carried a small bouquet containing sweet William, hyacinth, lily-of-the-valley and a sprig of myrtle from a bush planted by Queen Victoria.

The ceremony itself took place infront of 1,900 guests, while thousands of others watched on large TV screens outside Westminster Abbey. Afterwards, the newly-weds travelled to Buckingham Palace for the reception in a horse-drawn carriage. They spent some time inside before emerging on the balcony, for their first (and second) kiss(es) as Prince and Princess.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
