A blog about my life, I may post about what's going on or rant about stuff that annoys/elates me, but my main aim is to just be honest.

A challenge
Today, Jasmine, Chris D and I caught the bus to the cinema, while t'other Chris, Tom, Ben Winter, Jade, Rosie and Jess Boulton cycled to the same destination. It was a race, but not even self-confessed slow cyclists Chris and Rosie could hold out long enough to let bus team win, although our half-hour venture did culminate in the vehicle momentarily breaking down. Eventually we met up with the victors, all of us apart from Jess entered the cinema to watch the film "Chernobyl Diaries". It was pretty scary; Jasmine's deathly arm grab got my right arm during the trailers, while Chris spent most of the final third cowering into my left. I was sceptical of the premise: a horror film set at Chernobyl seemed rather insensitive to me, but the focus was on the characters and their eerie situation, not sensationalising the disaster. Plus we got to see the trailer for Ted!

Prom
It's been four days since the class of year 11 formally waved goodbye to compulsory education, and the celebration certainly didn't disappoint! We had pictures taken at school, then twelve of us, in a sea of blue and purple, squeezed into a fire engine limo and were whisked away to the venue.
The event itself was brilliant! We lapped up the American-style buffet, before heading to the dance floor. There, we grooved to classics such as the Macarena, as well as recent chart hits and nostalgic requests. All too soon it was over, but the memories still remain, assisted by the flurry of photos uploaded within hours, and videos, including this keek.

Well done Estonia!
Yesterday was the final of Eurovision 2012 from Baku, Azerbaijan and Chris decided to host a party, with each attendee picking a country to support. You may be able to tell from my nails (or from the title of this post), which country I chose... ESTONIA!! My decision was based on the fact that I enjoyed the country's effort last year (Rockefeller Street by Getter Jaani) and that I knew I'd be able to paint the country's flag on my fingernails.

Despite being (according to Donati) 19th favourite to win out of the 26 finalists, this year's contestant, Ott Lepland, ended up in sixth place, with 120 points! Congratulations Ott and Estonia!

The Status
On 24th November, Chris Green posted "listening to christmas songs ♥" as his facebook status. Nobody at the time would have predicted that, within 2 months, there would be over 10,000 comments on it, detailing the everday thoughts, feelings and activities of a group of teenagers. Included in its seemingly endless realms were gems such as "Chris Blue", word association games, and ringing in the new year. Unfortunately, Chris deleted it today.
I miss you, status! Thanks for some good times!
I know there is more to life than a facebook status, but it was good while it lasted.

First day back!
Today I started year 11. I could go on for ages about how I don't feel old enough to be sitting my GCSEs next May and how it only feels like yesterday that I was a nervous year 7 on my first day, but instead I'll outline the main events of today:
- 6:45 am - get up my dad's clock is fast so we were up before 7, but at least it meant we weren't late to...
- 8:07 am - meet Georgina a couple of minutes earlier than usual (only because it's the first day). Thanks to this, I subsequently miss seeing 8:09 on my watch, but the songs I listened to on the walk to school make up for it.
- 8:31 am - at school Em, Daisy, Georgina and I are now at school, commenting on how small the new year 7s are and talking about TV shows. This area of conversation is lifted when Chelsea arrives; she will later attempt to work out how many hours of TV she watches in a week (it's a lot).
- 8:45 am - tutor time we get our new planners (I predicted the cover would be dark and stripy), fill in our timetables, do a fire drill and Rosie's ruler makes my head bleed. Break follows, before our first proper lesson of the day:
- 11:10 am - science work out our current grades in each module in science, and shake up our seating plan. We now sit (clockwise from the sink): Rachel, Chelsea, me, Chris Donati, Tom, Chris Green, Rosie.
- 12:10 pm - RS same teacher, seating plan and module as before.
- 1:10 pm - lunch hall closed so we eventually settle around the morning bench. I hold Em's mirror for her to put her brace bands in.
- 1:55 pm - PE with no kit, there's nothing to do in PE except listen to sir talk for the best part of an hour. Luckily next lesson we can listen to music while walking. Good times.

No more science modules!
We got the results back from the Physics 1b test in science today, and I got an A* (50 out of 50), so I now have no more modules to worry about! Not that they were worrying, mind you: 36 questions and all of them multiple choice suited me just fine. I'm now looking forward to the Biology 2 exam on the 19th May (Chris Donati's birthday, poor him), and History on 7th June. Fun.
