Happy birthday Joe Mac!

This year, New Year's Eve is more to me than just the end of the year: its Joey McIntyre's birthday! I barely knew who he was a year ago today. Back then, New Kids On The Block was just a boy band, who had a few hits in the late 80s/early 90s and began the showbiz career of the actor who played Eric Matthews in the Saw films (Donnie Wahlberg). In the last twelve months, the New Kids have become pretty important to me, their songs have creeped onto my iPod and I've developed an admiration for them as people too. Anyway, let's get back to the subject of this post: Joey Joe's 39th birthday!

A few days ago, my mother asked me why Joey is my favourite New Kid. After all, I'm a shy, quiet teenager who finds it difficult to express myself. Momentarily lost for words, I mumbled something about him being a U2 fan. Since then, I've come up with a few more answers to this question:

  1. His music - This year I've acquired Meet Joe Mac via amazon.co.uk and downloaded Here We Go Again EP and Come Home For Christmas on iTunes. From the poignant "Mrs. Callahan" to the funky, upbeat "NYC Girls", Meet Joe Mac is a brilliant album which I would whole-heartedly recommend. Here We Go Again also has some great tunes, especially "Outta Nothing At All", and Come Home For Christmas is a heartwarming festive treat!
  2.  Five Brothers and a Million Sisters - A song for the fans, I love it!
  3. His way with words - Whether in tweets, blog posts or verbally, there is something about Joe's (often) wise words that I find rather refreshing.
  4. His humour
  5. His attractiveness - Joe himself tweeted earlier that he thinks he "[looks] 29 instead of 39"... I guess "self-confidence" could be another point on this list!
  6. His eyes - Yes, I believe his "swimming-pool blue" eyes warrant a separate point!
  7. His voice(s) - Did I not mention this already?! I put "(s)" because there's no doubt his singing voice has altered somewhat over the years, while the Boston accent remains the same.
I could go on, but I think you get the idea...

Happy birthday Joey! I hope you have a great day and a terrific 2012!

It's my birthday today!

In just over 20 minutes I'll be 16, so this is my final blog post as a fifteen year old. I can't believe it's come round so quickly; sixteen still seems too mature! I'm really looking forward to seeing the film New Year's Eve at the cinema with my friends in celebration! It's gonna be awesome.

A quick catch up!

Hey! Since I had to log into blogger again, I felt it was about time for another blog post. It's lucky I still remember my password! Anyway, here's a few notable events that have occurred since 19th November:

  • At Chris's film night (on the 19th) we watched the film "Dead Silence", which I was really happy about because it stars Donnie Wahlberg and was created by the same people who came up with the Saw franchise. The film didn't disappoint, and I purchased the DVD for £3 yesterday, without being asked for ID!
  • My first ever internet purchase, "Meet Joe Mac" by Joey McIntyre arrived on Jonathan Knight's birthday (29th November), which is also the 333rd day of the year!
  • I also had my sixth form interview on that day; I will be studying chemistry, biology, German and psychology (provisionally) next year, and get to research intense celebrity fandom and stalking. Sounds interesting...
  • On December 2nd I broke my school bag, a trusty sidekick of a year and a quarter. By Monday evening I had another bag: the same design but in a different colour!
  • The 5th to 9th December was mock week, meaning I didn't tweet much and revised a bit. Most of the exams went okay, but I'm glad it's over!
  • Yesterday, in addition to the DVD, I bought 7 CDs by The Feeling, Backstreet Boys, Muse, Mika and Take That.
  • It's a week and a day until my birthday! I'm going to see "New Year's Eve" with friends to celebrate.
See ya soon!

Broken Dawn

Today, Em, Daisy, Georgina, Elisha, and the new couple, Chris and Chelsea, went to the cinema to see Breaking Dawn Part 1. We had a good time, eating loads of popcorn and pringles while Bella and Edward married, honeymooned and more on the 60 ft screen. After the film we said our goodbyes and departed, but Em and I will see Georgina, Elisha and the lovebirds again later as we're going to a film night at Chris's house!

RE: Rant to Chelsea Knight

Tom has broken up with Chelsea and Chris fancies Chelsea, but doesn't want to go out with her. Chelsea is giving them until next week to ask her out. Basically.

Meanwhile, I'm listening to this:

NKOTBSB baby!

In 177 days I will be in London watching New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys live!! I'm really excited even though it's over 5 months away and a lot has to happen before then.

Rant to Chelsea Knight

Chelsea, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! If you still like Chris (as this tweet infers) why are you still dating Tom?? Especially after he ignored you in double German earlier... I don't get it! Either dump Tom or try and make a go of it, please! I don't like it when you're unhappy, it's annoying and pointless.

I don't understand other people.

That lovey-dovey stuff...

Direct message received from Chelsea on Twitter 21:41 15th September 2011: Tom has asked me on date!! I said yes
Direct massage received at about 5:30 today: Me and tom are sort of takin a break btw

Chelsea and Tom's seemingly dateless 3-week experience of going out is officially over for now. Oh dear.

Nina was on Twitter!

It's #FollowFriday on Twitter today, so I wasn't expecting too much when the (1) popped up beside my Twitter tab. When I clicked, I realised this was far from the weekly recommendations and "thank you"s or "no problem"s; it was a tweet from Nina.

I'm not sure why I neglected to mention Nina's departure on this blog, but it may be because it was such a sad and sudden event. She told me that her dad lost his job and said that they might have to move house, but I didn't imagine she'd have gone less than month later, and as far away Scotland.

Since this happened 3 months ago, and no-one has contacted her since, I was very surprised to receive this tweet from her today, which simply said "-pokes jess-". We had a conversation, reminiscing about old times and discovering her new-found television favourites: Big Brother and Coach Trip! It was great to talk to her again; you don't appreciate how much people mean until they're not there.

Things that made me think of Joey McIntyre today

(Title pretty much says it all)

  1. Listening to the Here We Go Again EP while walking briskly in PE (for obvious reasons)
  2. His initials on my maths book (I will post a pic at some point)
  3. Playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in history (Joey was on the celebrity version of the gameshow in 2001)
  4. Someone said "take her out to dinner" on EastEnders (I'd take her out to dinner, treat her like a winner, I may be young but I'm no beginner! - Are You Down by NKOTB)
  5. It's now 8:09 pm and the date today is 8/09 in the UK format

 I enjoyed today! :)

First day back!

Today I started year 11. I could go on for ages about how I don't feel old enough to be sitting my GCSEs next May and how it only feels like yesterday that I was a nervous year 7 on my first day, but instead I'll outline the main events of today:

  1. 6:45 am - get up my dad's clock is fast so we were up before 7, but at least it meant we weren't late to...
  2. 8:07 am - meet Georgina a couple of minutes earlier than usual (only because it's the first day). Thanks to this, I subsequently miss seeing 8:09 on my watch, but the songs I listened to on the walk to school make up for it.
  3. 8:31 am - at school Em, Daisy, Georgina and I are now at school, commenting on how small the new year 7s are and talking about TV shows. This area of conversation is lifted when Chelsea arrives; she will later attempt to work out how many hours of TV she watches in a week (it's a lot).
  4. 8:45 am - tutor time we get our new planners (I predicted the cover would be dark and stripy), fill in our timetables, do a fire drill and Rosie's ruler makes my head bleed. Break follows, before our first proper lesson of the day:
  5. 11:10 am - science work out our current grades in each module in science, and shake up our seating plan. We now sit (clockwise from the sink): Rachel, Chelsea, me, Chris Donati, Tom, Chris Green, Rosie.
  6. 12:10 pm - RS same teacher, seating plan and module as before.
  7. 1:10 pm - lunch hall closed so we eventually settle around the morning bench. I hold Em's mirror for her to put her brace bands in.
  8. 1:55 pm - PE with no kit, there's nothing to do in PE except listen to sir talk for the best part of an hour. Luckily next lesson we can listen to music while walking. Good times.
I could go on, but assembly isn't particularly interesting and my right arm aches from the tetanus injection I had at the doctors earlier. See ya!

Thursday, 11 August 2011

I'm feeling ever so slightly bored, so I figured it was time for another blog post.

So far this summer holiday I have:

  • rolled down a hill
  • tweeted 536 538 times
  • posted a lot on tumblr (139 posts in August alone)
  • rediscovered my love for Animal Crossing
  • celebrated my sister's birthday
  • listened to "2 In The Morning" by New Kids On The Block at 2am 5 times
  • blown up 5 balloons
  • read "To Kill A Mockingbird"
  • consumed 32 toasted cheese sandwiches
  • written 21 diary entries
  • admitted my Joe girl tendencies (to myself, at least...)
Here's to the rest of summer!

Achtung Baby: All Grown Up

Yay! U2 have finally announced the release date for the hotly anticipated remastered re-release of it's (in my opinion) greatest work to date: Achtung Baby! The 31st October 2011 is the date set, which coincides with drummer Larry Mullen Jr.'s 50th birthday, and is just short of 20 years since the original album first hit the shelves on the 19th November 1991. The remaster is available in 4 physical editions as well as download, ranging from the standard CD with a provisional RRP of £13.20, to a limited edition Ãœber Deluxe box set containing the original album, sister album Zooropa and 4 other CDs (presumably containing a lot of B-sides, reworkings and demos); 4 DVDs including Zoo TV: Live from Sydney and a new documentary about Achtung Baby titled "From The Sky Down"; a pair of Fly Shades; an 84-page hardback book; a sticker sheet; art prints and more, but it comes at a very hefty price: Amazon UK shows an estimated cost of £385.99. Other formats include the album with a bonus disc (for around £16), and the 6 CDs, 4 DVDs, a 92-page book and 16 art prints (£105.99).

Are you excited about the anniversary release of Achtung Baby? Will you be purchasing it when the time comes? If so, which version takes your fancy?

Chelsea the author?!

Based solely upon her hatred of our English teacher, Mrs Cross, Chelsea was the last person I'd expect to say she'd quite fancy writing a book. However, that's exactly what happened this morning as we waited to begin the dreaded lesson. Though born of a combination of this loathing and Chelsea's rather competitive nature, the project seems to have pretty solid foundations; the writer in question just sent me the opening via email (as is the norm these days) and I have to say, it's pretty good! Always one mark short of a B in our controlled assessment tasks, Chelsea could, providing she keeps this up, be heading far higher! And all because of a simple teacher/student tiff... inspiration arises from the strangest of matters!

My week experiencing work

I've been rather busy between 9am and 5pm these last few days, gaining work experience at local libraries. My duties have included shelving, withdrawing books, shelf check (searching the shelves for books requested from other libraries), assisting with Rhyme Time and helping to create the summer reading challenge display. I found it really fun and was actually sad to leave today! My colleagues were really friendly and happy to help me out when I needed it. I was always busy and time went by pretty swiftly. It's a bit annoying that we have another week (well, four days) of school next week, and I'm a bit worried that I'm gonna start instinctively arranging items next time I go into a shop! :X

Recent good times

So, topless Bono month on my U2 calendar is officially over (has been for days), and I'm still yet to compile a blog post in the merry month of July. What can I say, I've been not at all busy! Here's a few excerpts from the more interesting events of late:

Tuesday 28th - Brace date
I got braces a week ago today! They ached a bit at first but I'm getting used to them now.

Thursday 30th - Bad Teacher
I went to see the film Bad Teacher with Chelsea and Chris. It was fun, especially watching Chris on the dance game in Bowlplex.

Saturday 2nd - Georgina's party
I had so much fun around Georgina's house with her brother James, Em, Chris, Daisy, Chelsea and Elisha, especially trying to catch food in your mouth (I'm surprisingly good with small pieces of dorito!)

Here's to a fun-filled July!

Bracey bracey

In six days time I will have braces on my teeth! Can't say I'm looking forward to them, I'm actually a pretty nervous about having my mouth held open for upwards of 40 minutes in case I need to cough... One thing that will be ever-so-slightly fun will be the ultraviolet light used to glue the brackets on, and the cool shades you have to wear when it's applied.

I have the school concert the day after. That's gonna be fun!

Hair (or lack of it)

I've had a haircut! I won't post the results here because a) I'd rather not post pics of myself and b) It doesn't look so good right now... It's quite a dramatic change actually, about five inches were taken off at the Supercuts salon in town, within just over an hour of me deciding to (or my mum telling me to) get it cut. I'm really happy with it! While out, I also purchased the Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark soundtrack and a U2 WAR T-shirt.

Happy Breathe Day!

16th of June, 9:05, doorbell rings, man at the door says if I wanna stay alive a bit longer, there's a few things I need you to know... three!

Mangotsfield Festival

I had a great time today at the annual Mangotsfield Festival with Em, Chris and Chelsea; we bought random-flavoured ice creams (mine was cherry, apple and lemon), perused the wide variety of stalls, and sat in the bright summer sun (luckily I brought my shades!). We were just ambling around, looking at stock the library was trying to get rid of, when I found a U2 CD inamongst it. It turned out to be an exclusive All That You Can't Leave Behind promo EP from a newspaper, and I suddenly gained a keen interest in the content of these precariously stacked boxes. I discovered the full Batman Forever soundtrack, pounced on Passengers: Original Soundtracks 1, and was just about to leave when Chelsea picked up the Discothèque CD single! Perfect! Our shabbily organised outing to the Cleve rugby club grounds had yielded me 4 albums, 2.5 hours of music, and the opportunity to go mad in public, as well as help fund our local libraries. And I was home by 2:30. What could be better?

(As I write, the discs are scattered around the laptop after being uploaded to iTunes, except for OS1 because I already downloaded it, thinking that an event like this would be impossible, and basically being impatient.)

I should be revising...

I haven't posted a lot recently because I have a history exam coming up which is worth 35% of my final grade. Also I was feeling a bit ill at the end of May, but I'm feeling much better now! On the 29th, Em, Chelsea, Nina, Elisha, Jasmine and I went ice skating to celebrate Chelsea's birthday (which is in just over a week's time), then to Flavourz for the all you can eat buffet, which turned out to be very nice. On Tuesday it was my dad's birthday; we celebrated with a meal and a game of Monopoly at my grandparents' house. It's now the holidays, but rather than relaxing, I really should be revising...

Happy birthday Rosie!

Today is Rosie's birthday and I hope she's having a great one! She had a party yesterday which, like last year took place at Castle Quarry. We only got to canoe this time, but it was great, and I think I've improved since last year! Afterwards we jumped in the pond (and Chelsea was thrown in) then we got changed (Chelsea into her orange dress, and I into my lemon dress) and headed back to Rosie's for food; I couldn't stop "hav[ing] another grape" and also ate a few slices of pizza, as well as polishing off the strawberries. We played Buzz on the playstation afterwards, Chelsea, Chris and I came third overall but were first for most of the game. It was soon pass the parcel time; Tom won the first game and I won the second, as Chris, Chelsea and I fiddled with Rachel (Rosie's sister)'s iTunes. I put on Somebody Told Me and Human by The Killers, which went down well with the others (Tom and Izzy liked it) then Rosie unwrapped her presents. To end the night, we youtubed fun dance songs such as YMCA and Cha Cha Slide and Rosie took a few pictures which I hope will appear on facebook soon...

Jedward's Eurovision triumph!

They may not have won it, but Irish twins Jedward (John and Edward Grimes) certainly enjoyed their stint on the Eurovision Song Contest. “We loved taking part in the Eurovision”, they said after the result was announced. “Our aim was to bring fun and happiness to Eurovision and make Ireland proud. And we hope we succeeded.” (via http://www.irishtimes.com/).

Jedward performing Lipstick (See the original picture here.)

Jedward came 8th overall with 119, beating the UK's entry Blue by 3 places and 19 points. Azerbaijan were the surprise winners of the contest, scoring a grand total of 221 points for their effort "Running Scared".

Winners: Ell and Nikki of Azerbaijan (See pic here.)

Other songs I rather enjoyed included: Change by Hotel FM (Romania, 17th, 77 points); Da Da Dam by Paradise Oskar (Finland, 21st, 57 points); and Rockefeller Street by Getter Jaani (Estonia, 24th, 44 points).

Finland - Da Da Dam

Estonia - Rockefeller Street

Happy birthday Bono!!

Today is the birthday of argueably the greatest frontman in the world: Bono! It is shared by his eldest daughter, Jordan, and I'd like to wish a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both of them!

Your eyes make a circle...

My eyes
This is what my eyes look like today. I don't normally wear much make up (just a bit of mascara and lip balm) but I thought it would be nice to experiment a bit today; you can see the end result here. I used blue 17 eyeshadow from a Christmas present set, along with Boots natural collection mascara/eyeliner on my left eye, and max factor on my right. I also used some 17 lip gloss, but it doesn't stay on very well...

Max's birthday

I had a good time at my cousin Max's birthday party yesterday. I listened to All That You Can't Leave Behind on the way there, just because it's Joey McIntyre's favourite album, and found it quite refreshing. We didn't eat until about 4:30-5:00; I had a bit too much of the curry starter, so could only manage one burger for dinner, then it was time for the birthday cake; Max beamed as scores of relatives sang "Happy Birthday" to him. I had a small slice of raspberry and passion fruit pudding for dessert, and heard a familiar sound coming from the neighbouring room, a low hum of bass first of all, a solid beat, a slight chiming guitar sound, leading into a full-on, soaring guitar riff: "Oh-oh-oh-" Magnificent! I was delighted to hear it, blasting from my uncle's iPod, and I had a little dance to myself. All too soon it was time to leave, but not before hearing it a second time, right before we left! Magnificent, indeed...

U2 Glastonbury, 2011-06-24, Glastonbury Festival, Various Dates - U2 on tour

In less than 2 months time (54 days to be precise) U2 will be rocking the Pyramid Stage as they headline the 41st Annual Glastonbury Festival. I can't wait to watch, although it will be from the comfort of my living room rather than the muddy fields of Glastonbury.

It was a beautiful day...

I enjoyed visiting my Auntie and Uncle in Oxfordshire yesterday, as well as their 4 dogs: Ella, Finn, Arquebus and Thistle; and 3 cats: Kiki, Mahler (not sure how it's spelt) and Teleman. It was nice to finally meet Thistle, who was bought a few weeks ago, after Izzy passed away.

Mahler in the sun
We picked our own rhubarb for pudding, before settling down to the three, maybe four course meal: smoked salmon with lashings of lemon, game pie with mixed veg and rhubarb crumble with ice cream. We walked the dogs after; I started off with Ella and took Arquie home, then we had cheese and crackers to round off the day!

A day to remember...

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, also
known as Prince William and Princess Catherine

Today at 11:00am GMT, millions of people across the globe tuned in to witness the marriage of HRH Prince William of Wales to Miss Catherine "Kate" Middleton. Whether on the television, YouTube, in the cinema or by other means, an estimated 1-2 billion people watched worldwide, as Kate became Princess Catherine and the couple were finally married. I watched the whole service on TV and thought it was lovely; I'd never seen a wedding in full before (apart from attending one when I was 6 months old, but even then I had to be taken out part way through for making too much noise).
Kate's dress was beautiful. I loved the lace detailing on the sleeves and the flowery pattern. She carried a small bouquet containing sweet William, hyacinth, lily-of-the-valley and a sprig of myrtle from a bush planted by Queen Victoria.

A first glimpse of Kate's dress as she is driven to Westminster Abbey

The ceremony itself took place infront of 1,900 guests, while thousands of others watched on large TV screens outside Westminster Abbey. Afterwards, the newly-weds travelled to Buckingham Palace for the reception in a horse-drawn carriage. They spent some time inside before emerging on the balcony, for their first (and second) kiss(es) as Prince and Princess.

The Kiss

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Happy birthday Chris!

Yay, once again it's Chris's birthday, and what better way to celebrate than with a maths test? He wasn't too disheartened though, as he received lots of (mostly chocolate) presents from us, and extra hair gel from Chelsea, as well as having a double lesson with Miss Ashford... ;)

No more science modules!

We got the results back from the Physics 1b test in science today, and I got an A* (50 out of 50), so I now have no more modules to worry about! Not that they were worrying, mind you: 36 questions and all of them multiple choice suited me just fine. I'm now looking forward to the Biology 2 exam on the 19th May (Chris Donati's birthday, poor him), and History on 7th June. Fun.

Saturday, 23 April 2011

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday's alright!

Today I listened to Zooropa (the album) all the way through for the first time since I posted random snippets of the lyrics to Chelsea on msn and she thought I was going mad (that was fun...), and it was very enjoyable, from the first solemn, mysterious chords of the title track, right through to the last wails of the strange alarm sounds that close this 1993 gem.

This was while I was on the way to town for shopping purposes, and I did quite well, buying:
  • U2 Best Of 1990-2000 plus B-sides for just £2
  • Scouting For Girls' eponymous debut album for £2.50
  • New Kids On The Block: greatest hits - £2
  • U2: A Diary (Book) - £4
  • Bono In The Name Of Love - £6
There are now only 2 days of the holidays left, and I have quite a lot of revision to do, but I'll post again when I can!

Funderworld!

Em, Georgina and I went on a trip to Funderworld, the travelling themepark, yesterday, which was great! I loved the ride "Freak Out!"; the feeling on it was incredible, as though we were soaring high above the park, and although it was over in a few minutes, we felt euphoric for some time afterwards. Other highlights included Magic Mouse, which we bought a less-than-flattering photo of ourselves on, and another ride which I've forgotten the name of, but I remember one of the people painted on it looked a tad like Bono... ;)

On the subject of Bono, last night I dreamt that I met him and Bradley Walsh! I can't remember it very well, but I think I took Bono to school (why?), and woke up soon afterwards.

100 facts about me (part 1)

The hashtag #100FactsAboutMe was a trending topic on Twitter a while back, and I attempted it, but only reached number 69... I want to finish it someday, and I though it would be cool to share it here, but in small chunks. Enjoy!

100 Facts About Me
1. Lasagne is the only food I hate.
2. I have no idea how I'm going to write 100 Facts About Me.
3. My birthday is the 19th December and the song Miss Sarajevo by Passengers was number 2 when I was born.
4. I have considered downloading Friday by Rebecca Black. :-[
5. The Passengers song Plot 180 scares me.
6. I have 2 main twitter accounts: this one [@WhildHoney] and @JEKB_; I also have @TweamAshpin and @TweamSmithelle.
7. The U2 member I dream about most often is Adam Clayton.
8. ... closely followed by Larry Mullen Jr.
9. I don't have a favourite U2 member; I like them all EQUALLY.
10. I can't believe I've only just got to #10!
That's all for now!

Why my leg hurts...

This morning I was surprised to receive a text from Tom, asking about science table meeting up later on. Eventually it was decided to go to Pomphrey Hill (again) and Em and Georgina were invited to make up the numbers, since Chelsea was busy and Chris Donati is on holiday. In the end only Rosie could come in addition to Tom, his sister Katie, Em, Georgina and I, but it was still good.

Apart from the awkward silences.

We played a lot of games including frisbee, rounders and football; I got 2 rounders as well as scoring a goal against Tom! Played manhunt after that (basically hide'n'seek) and got a few cuts and scratches from the trees, which were far spikier than they appeared (this is why my leg still hurts, about 8 hours later!). Rosie's friend Izzy came soon after that, but Georgina had leave, so Em and I went with her and wandered home in the afternoon sun. And it was 3:33.

More Edge twitpics!

I love it when we receive another glorious image from U2's 360 adventure by way of The Edge's twitter account, especially when it is as random as this beauty, captioned "Achtung Baby". It could easily feature as a line in Beautiful Day B-side "Always". (Something along the lines of: Always wear a safety belt/Always!/Beware of falling coconuts/Always!)

You can view the original at http://yfrog.com/h363krnj :)

Fun, fun, fun, fun!

Had a great day out today with Rosie, Chelsea, Daisy, Chris, Rachel and my sister Emily. We went to a park and enjoyed playing on the swings, roundabout and zip wire as though we were 5 years old again! I took a few videos on the camera including ones of Rosie falling off both the zip wire and a random spinning thing; luckily she wasn't hurt!

Vorsprung durch Technik

I'm so happy U2 are playing the full version of Zooropa, it rocks! Zooropa is my second favourite U2 song and I was thrilled to see it in Sunday's Brazilian setlist along with my favourite song (Ultraviolet) and my possibly 3rd favourite (North Star). It's great to see that the band hasn't forgotten about this 90's gem, and further affirms that 360 could be their best tour to date! Makes me wish I could go... U2, please come back to the UK!!

How time flies...

Met up with some friends from Primary school today, which was kind of odd since I haven't been in contact with most of them since we left almost four years ago. It was great to catch up again, but I still wondered how different life might be if we hadn't lost touch. Would we still hang out together? Would I have even made new friends?

Anyway, they haven't changed much and were still recognisable as my old friends; Megan kept commenting on how mature we all are (her in particular) and much mickey was taken out of Alex's new "Oldfield Girls'" posh accent and Chris's deeper voice (he didn't spike his hair up though!). Georgina, Gemma, Chris, Megan, Alex and I were there; the whole group apart from Amy, who had to have a blood test today because she had a brain tumour a few months ago. It was strange her not being there, and I really hope all is now well for her.

We had a laugh playing Just Dance 1 & 2 on the wii, and we watched The Simpsons Movie until it froze (at a very cool point) by which time Gemma was leaving and offered me a lift home, which I gladly accepted.

It was nice to see them all again, and I'll look forward to possible meet-ups in the future!
